HOWEY-IN-THE-Hills, Fla. – The Ave Maria men's and women's golf teams concluded the Golfweek NAIA Spring Invite today at Mission Inn Resort & Club. The 54-hole men's tournament was played at the 6,716 yard, par 72 El Campeon Course while the 36-hole women's tournament was played at the 5,882 yard, par 72 Las Colinas Course.
 
On the men's side, James Desanges carded a final round 80 to finish at 234 for the tournament. Andrea Scopone (82), Cameron Weikart (83), Isaac Nycum (84), and Michael Toomey (89) rounded out the scoring for AMU in tough, windy conditions.
 
Keiser won the men's tournament with a 54-hole team score of 900. Webber International finished in second at 902 while Johnson & Wales and Dalton State tied for third at 903.  Two players tied for low individual at 219 (+3) for the tournament.
 
Jessica Licari fired a team-low 82 in the final round to finish at 175. Bianca Vicioso had the low tournament total for AMU after rounds of 83 and 85 to finish at 168. Sarah Notaro (89), Taylor Robinson (92), and Valerie Bertuccelli (98) rounded out the scoring for AMU in the final round.
 
Keiser was also the team tournament winner on the women's side with a 36-hole total of 613. SCAD-Savannah was in second at 625 followed by Southeastern at 626. SCAD's Maria Paula Otero was low individual at 148 (+4) for the tournament.
 
Both golf teams will return to action with their respective conference tournaments beginning later this month.
