AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria volleyball team fell to Southeastern in straight sets on Friday night. The Lady Gyrenes were unable to overcome the strong attack game from the Fire, as Southeastern hit .302 as a team in the match.

Natalie Rosinski led the Lady Gyrenes with nine kills. Fellow freshman Erica Chenard tallied six kills for AMU. Cassie Davis and Lauren Ruby each finished with double-figure assists, with 11 and 10, respectively. Davis also tallied seven digs while Daniela Jaramillo led the Blue and Green with 13.

Southeastern committed a total of seven attack errors in the first and third set, as they went on to win those sets 25-12 and 25-14, respectively. The Lady Gyrenes put together their best set in the second, going point-for-point with Southeastern until late in the set. With AMU trailing 19-18, Southeastern won the next five points to take control of the set.

Ave Maria gets a few days off and a break from conference play on Tuesday when they welcome Florida College to Tom Golisano Field House. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
