THOMASVILLE, Ga. --- The Ave Maria women's soccer team hit the road on Saturday afternoon for a Sun Conference tilt against Thomas University. The Night Hawks defeated the Lady Gyrenes 7-0 after the two teams were scoreless in the opening 45 minutes.

In the opening half, the Lady Gyrenes were able to force Thomas into tough shots, allowing just four of the Night Hawks' 13 shots to get on frame.

Thomas began to convert their shots over the final 45 minutes. Three quick goals 10 minutes into the second half put AMU behind. A goal midway through the second half made it 4-0 Thomas. The Night Hawks finished the game with three goals over the final 10 minutes to make it 7-0.

Thomas had 20 shots on goal compare to two by Ave Maria.

Ale Vazquez tallied both shots on goal for AMU. Erica Larson finished with 13 saves in the loss.

The Lady Gyrenes return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Babson Park to take on Webber at 3 p.m.
