Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's tennis team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 6-3 win over Southeastern on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Gyrenes fell 8-1 to the visiting Fire.
 
On the men's side, Ave Maria took two of three points in double play to jump out to an early lead. The Gyrenes won four of the six singles matches to secure the 6-3 win. Sebastian Ramirez and David Zuleta each won their singles matches at one-singles and two-singles, respectively, and won as a team at one-doubles.
 
Brian Schmidt and David Hanton each won their singles matches at three-singles and five-singles. Schmidt also won his doubles match with partner Nicholas Hofmeister.
 
On the women's side, Averia Harkey won the lone singles match for the Lady Gyrenes. She defeated her opponent at four-singles 6-2, 7-5.
 
Both teams return to play on Wednesday then they travel to West Palm Beach to take on Keiser at 2 p.m.
