Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. --- The Ave Maria tennis teams fell to St. Thomas on Wednesday afternoon. The men's team was defeated 8-1 by the 22nd-ranked Bobcats, while the women's team dropped a 9-0 decision.
 
Davin Hanton picked up the lone point for AMU at the five-singles spot. Many of the other singles matches were close with Sebastian Ramirez falling at one-singles in three sets and Cesar Menacho dropping a 7-6, 7-6 decision at six-singles.
 
Ramirez and David Zuleta also nearly came away with a point in doubles play, as they were defeated 8-6 in the top doubles spot.
 
On the women's side, AMU dropped both of their doubles matches 8-2 and 8-0. In singles play, STU won each of the five matches.
 
AMU returns to action on Saturday when they host Webber International at 12 p.m. at the AMU Tennis Complex.
