ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Ave Maria tennis teams had their winning streaks snapped against NCAA DIII foe John Carroll (Ohio). The men's team fell 5-4 while the Lady Gyrenes lost 9-0.

Ave Maria men's tennis came in with a four match win streak before today's 5-4 loss. Ave Maria took a 2-1 lead into singles play after Sebastian Ramirez and David Zuleta won 8-4 at one-doubles and Brian Schmidt and Cesar Menacho won at three-doubles, 8-6.

In singles play, Ramirez and Nicholas Hofmeister won at one and two singles to get AMU to four points but the Gyrenes weren't able to get to the clinching fifth point as John Carroll won the other four singles matches.

The Lady Gyrenes had their three match win streak snapped with the loss. AMU dropped both doubles matches and then fell 4-0 in singles play.

The men's team returns to action on Friday, March 16 when they host Franciscan (Ohio) in Sarasota, Fla. Both teams will take on Florida Tech on March 21 in Ave Maria.
