AVE MARIA, Fla. --- A two-run homerun by USCB in the sixth inning was the difference in a 4-2 game between the Sand Sharks and Ave Maria. The Gyrenes move to 14-30 overall. The two teams will meet again tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. Ave Maria will recognize their seniors in a ceremony beginning at 11:40 a.m.

The Gyrenes opened the scoring when Eduardo Rodriguez scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the second.

USCB scored two in the top of the third to take a 2-1 lead. In the bottom half of the third, Luis Dominguez single to left field which brought in Ryan Keegan to tie the game.

In the top of the sixth, Charles McGinnis hit a two-run homerun to left center to give the Sand Sharks a 4-2 advantage.

Senior Andrew Steele allowed two earned runs and struck out eight over six innings for AMU. Andrew Giddens pitched two scoreless inning in relief while Michael Grenon pitched a scoreless ninth for the Gyrenes.

Tully Allen, Keegan, Dominguez, and Rodriguez each finished with two hits on the afternoon.
