WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's basketball team had their three game win streak snapped at Keiser on Saturday as the Gyrenes fell 73-64. Junior forward Sarah Miller scored 22 points and surpassed 1,000 for her career in just 77 games.

Both teams got off to slow starts with Ave Maria shooting 26.5 percent in the fist half and Keiser making 22.6 percent of their shots over the opening 20 minutes. The two teams were a combined 3-for-23 from three. Ave Maria trailed Keiser 13-11 after the first quarter but held the Seahawks to seven second quarter points to take a 24-20 lead into the half.

Keiser took the lead early in the third quarter and hled that advantage until a Taylor Allen three with just over a minute to play in the third regained a one-point edge for the Gyrenes. A Sarah Miller layup and a late basket by Emily Acosta gave AMU a five-point lead heading to the fourth.

After holding Keiser to 38 points through three quarters, the Seahawks scored 35 fourth quarter points to retake the lead and pull away from the Gyrenes. Keiser shot 58 percent in the second half and made 14-of-16 free throws over the final 20 minutes.

Miller led AMU with 22 points an 13 rebounds. Danielle Weinmann added 13 points. Syanne Rowe and Taylor Allen each had eight points.

Ave Maria finished the game shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 4-of-23 from behind the arc.

Antigonie Sanabria and Midori Long led Keiser with 22 points and 21 points, respectively. Donivan Dyson also finished in double-figures for the Seahawks with 14 points.

The Gyrenes return to action on Tuesday night when they host Trinity College (Fla.).
