Duggan Named to Second All-Sun Team

TAMPA, Fla. — The Sun Conference announced their All-Conference teams Tuesday afternoon and AJ Duggan was named to the Second Team.

Duggan was the top player for the Gyrenes in 2025, playing in the top pairing in all 14 matches. Against top competition, Duggan posted a winning record of 8-5 with one unfinished match. Against conference opponents, Duggan went 3-3 with wins over Florida National, Warner and St. Thomas' top players.

Duggan was also in the top doubles pair for 12 of the matches and posted a 4-6 record. He won all four of his doubles pairings with Joao Felipe Almeida.

This is the first time Duggan has been named to an All-Conference team after joining the Gyrenes as senior in 2024. It is also the first time the Gyrenes have had any players honored since the 2023 season.

Ave Maria was just one of five schools to have a player named to an All-Conference team this year. Southeastern and SCAD tied for the most overall players with four. Keiser had the most First Team honorees with three.

The Gyrenes made the Sun Conference Tournament for fifth year in a row and will open postseason play Wednesday, April 23. Ave Maria enters the tournament as the fifth seed and will take on the fourth seeded Coastal Georgia Mariners. Coastal Georgia won the regular season meeting between the two teams 4-2 March 21.
