Rugby Scores Most Points in Program History

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — It was all Ave Maria from the opening whistle on Saturday, as they powered past University of Miami with an emphatic 83–25 victory.

Ave Maria set the tone early, exploding to a 49–8 halftime lead behind relentless attacking pressure. The offense fired on all cylinders, overwhelming Miami's defense with speed, strength, and precision.
Leading the charge was Danny Harrington, who crossed the try line twice with sharp support play and finishing ability. Welsey From delivered one of the standout performances of the match, juking defenders and powering through contact for two impressive tries. Not to be outdone, Pat Zachmann also added two scores of his own.

By the second half, Ave Maria continued to pile on points, maintaining intensity and control to close out the dominant win.

Athanasius Niewald earned man of the match honors with his dominate forward play.

With the win, Ave Maria improves to 4-0 overall.

With momentum firmly on their side, AMU now turns its focus to a huge home matchup next week against undefeated St. Thomas. The Bobcats are in first place in the standings and are half a game ahead of the Gyrenes in second place. The regular season finale will determine the regular season champion. The match is set for Saturday, March 28, with kickoff set for noon at the AMU Rugby Field. The match will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network.
