Zach Moss recently finished his sixth season at Ave Maria.  As Associate Head Coach, Moss is involved in all aspects of the program.  Moss directly oversees all recruiting, player development; on and off the court, implementing and executing the defense, scouting opponents, and other administrative duties inside the program.

Moss was instrumental in Ave Maria's efforts on the bench during the 2018-19 season, where the Gyrenes won 23 games and were the 2019 Sun Conference Tournament Champions. The 2018-19 season saw Ave Maria play for the first time ever in the NAIA Division II National Tournament.

Through Coach Moss’ tireless effort, the AMU basketball program has built recruiting relationships with coaches and players all across the country and internationally.  During his time at AMU, the Gyrenes have signed student-athletes from numerous states across the country, as well as a number of players from outside the United States.

During his second season with the program, Moss served as the interim Head Coach for Ave Maria in The Sun Conference tournament.  In the first game Moss coached, he helped lead the Gyrenes to the program’s first victory in the Sun Conference Tournament as AMU defeated Florida Memorial, 68-56

Zach Moss also coaches in the NABC Reese’s All-Star Game, which is held annually at the Final Four.  The rosters from the East and West team consist of the top NCAA Division 1 seniors in the country, with the game being nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.

Moss began his coaching career as a high school and AAU coach in Naples, Florida.  Over a 9-year high school career, he helped 3 different high schools reach the state playoffs and helped over 30 young men receive athletic scholarships in basketball.

Moss has been instrumental in building relationships with the local Southwest Florida community.  None has had a greater impact than the relationship with 1 By 1 Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with youth in Immokalee, Florida.  Gyrene basketball players can regularly be seen mentoring youth in Immokalee or serving the migrant community in some capacity.

Zach Moss graduated from Florida Southwestern College with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  He is currently finishing his masters in Coaching from Greenville College.

Zach Moss resides in Naples with his wife Danielle, and their children Kaia, Koen, and angel Kian smiling down from Heaven.
