Antonio Soave

Antonio Soave enters his first season as head coach of the Ave Maria University Men's Soccer program.

Over the past several years, Soave founded and operated a Catholic-oriented soccer academy that combines high-quality soccer training with the Catholic faith. Additionally, he coached the Franciscan University of Steubenville men's soccer team for the 2008 season and led the team to its first winning season.
 
Soave was also the co-founder and former Head Coach of the World Youth Soccer Academy at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida (from 1998 to 2003) where he also was the creator, writer, producer and host of a soccer television show for kids and teens called "The Soccer Academy."
 
On the pitch, Soave is a former high school All-American athlete in the sport of soccer and was a junior apprentice player with the Detroit Express in the former NASL-ASL in 1981 and 1982. He played on a full scholarship in NCAA Division I at North Texas for one year and was part of the final selection for the United States Youth World Cup team in 1983. 
 
He then went on to play in the Canadian Professional League with Windsor in the summer of 1983 before going to Italy for four seasons of major league and minor league play.  While in Italy he played and trained with a variety of clubs from 1983 to 1986, including Lazio in the Serie A and Senigalia in the Serie C.
 
In the business world, Soave is currently the President and CEO of Capistrano Global Advisory Services. He previously served as the Chairman and Executive Director of the Benedictine College School of Business and the President and CEO of RGI Global Advisory Services.
 
Most recently, he was appointed to the International Advisory Board of the United States Institute of Peace (USIP).  The United States Institute of Peace is an independent, nonpartisan institution established by Congress to increase the nation's capacity to manage international conflict without violence.  He is presently working on a "peace through soccer" campaign with the U.S. Institute of Peace as well (www.GlobalSoccerPeace.org). 
 
Soave has a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from The American University (Washington, DC), a Juris Doctor degree from Michigan State University, and a Masters of Law degree in International Law from the University of San Diego.
