Emily Huber has been selected as Ave Maria’s Co-Female Athlete of the Week ending December 30, 2012. Huber, a senior guard out of Indianapolis, Ind., tallied 51 points in the Lady Gyrenes’ three games this week. Huber led the way for Ave Maria, first, in their 78-58 loss to Madonna University, scoring 16 points, grabbing four rebounds, and adding five steals in the game. On Saturday, in their victory over CU-Irvine, she finished with a team-high 20 points, grabbed six rebounds, and had four assists. Huber wrapped up the weekend with 15 points and seven rebounds in the Lady Gyrenes loss to Daemen College on Sunday.
The Lady Gyrenes continue play in the Ave Maria Holiday Classic today, December 31st, with a tip-off slated for 2p.m. against the Warhawks of Auburn University-Montgomery.
