Hunter McCarthy has been selected as Ave Maria's Male Athlete of the Week ending February 24th, 2013. McCarthy, a junior outfielder out of Punta Gorda, Fla., led the Gyrenes with three home runs, including a grand-slam, on Saturday. He tallied eight RBI over two conference wins against Florida Memorial.

The Gyrenes return to the field Wednesday when they host Goshen College. The first pitch is slated for 3p.m.
