Hayley Wonka has been selected as Ave Maria’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 17th, 2013. Wonka, a senior from Vero Beach, Fla., tallied a team-leading seven kills and six digs in the Lady Gyrenes 3-0 loss to St. Thomas in the opening round of the Sun Conference Tournament. Additionally she notched the 1,000th dig of her career earlier on in the week in the regular season finale when AMU dropped a 3-0 decision to Embry Riddle.

The Lady Gyrenes finished the 2013 season with a 6-16 record.
