AVE MARIA, Fla.---One goal was all the Warner Royals offense would need to secure a victory over the Ave Maria Gyrenes men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon. The Gyrenes would fall 1-0 to the visiting Royals. The Blue and Green return to action on Wednesday, taking on Sun Conference opponent Southeastern University.
The Royals notched the only goal of the day in the 29th minute of play to take the 1-0 lead. Â From there the Warner defense would take over, holding the AMU offense to just six shots on the afternoon.
Freshman
Eddie Tovar (Naples, Fla.) recorded three of the six Gyrene shots on Saturday afternoon.
Senior goalkeeper
JC Intriago (Guayaquil, Ecuador) made three saves in net for the Gyrenes. The Blue and Green drop their record to 1-12 overall and 0-9 in the Sun Conference.
The Gyrenes will take on the Southeastern University Fire on Wednesday, October 29. AMU will conclude its 2014 schedule a week from today on Saturday, November 1st taking on NCAA Division II opponent Palm Beach Atlantic University.
