Lady Gyrenes Welcome Wildcats For Midweek Matchup

Week 3 Game Notes

AVE MARIA, Fla. ---
The AMU women's soccer team returns to action this Thursday, when they play host to TSC opponent Johnson and Wales University. The Lady Gyrenes and the Wildcats will meet for the eighth time, with the Lady Gyrenes owning the all-time series 4-2-1.

Scouting Ave Maria 2-1 (0-0 TSC)
Head Coach: Frank Frostino (Fourth Season)

If the Blue and Green are going to continue to see success against the Wildcats, look for their powerful offense to continue to lead the way. Coach Frostino's 2014 squad has picked up right where the 2013 squad left off, knocking in six goals through their first three games. AMU has used a blend of young talent and veteran leadership to jump out to a 2-1 record. Four of AMU's six goals this season have been recorded by freshman. In addition, the Blue and Green have shared the wealth on offense, assisting on four of the six goals.

Opponent: Johnson and Wales Wildcats
Date: Thursday, September 11, 2014
Opening Kick: 7 p.m.
Location: North Park Soccer Complex, Ave Maria, Fla.

Scouting Johnson and Wales University 1-2-1 (0-0 TSC)
Head Coach: Eric Dobrzanski (Fifth Season)

The Wildcats enter action versus AMU having lost their last two games. If the Wildcats are going to escape with a victory, they are going to have to tighten up their defense. JWU has allowed 8 goals in just four games this season. The Wildcats will be facing an AMU offense that is averaging three goals per game. Johnson and Wales will be led on the offensive side of the ball by Deana Garbarino and Sara Troulliot, who rank first and second in points this season for the Wildcats, with two and one goals respectively. The offensive duo ranked second and third in points on the 2013 Wildcats team.
