LAKELAND, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's soccer team was defeated, 4-0, at Southeastern on Wednesday night. The Blue and Green drop to 1-14 on the season and to 0-9 in Sun Conference play.

Southeastern jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a goal by Jake Van Der Luit in the 30th minute. Corey Mills assisted on the goal. Pedro Ivo Dias scored the next two goals for the Fire, one in the 45th minute and one in the 74th. The first goal was on a free kick from 20 yards away and the second on a penalty kick. Ashton Hicks made it 4-0 on a goal with 24 seconds to play in the match.

Southeastern outshot Ave 20-4 and had a 14-3 advantage on the Gyrenes on shots on goal. Carl Bishop tallied two shots on goal for the Blue and Green.

Andrea Salomone took the loss in goal, allowing four goals and making eight saves.

The Gyrenes conclude the season on Friday night when they travel to West Palm Beach to take on Palm Beach Atlantic. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
