Women's Soccer Downed by #4 Keiser

Box Score Ave Maria, FL—On Saturday afternoon the Ave Maria University Women's Soccer team hosted the #4 ranked Keiser University Seahawks in a Sun Conference matchup. Entering the afternoon the Lady Gyrenes held a record of 3-4 and were coming off a big 10-1 win against Johnson University.

Keiser came out firing on all cylinders in the first half of play, jumping out to a 4-0 lead by halftime. Linnea Lindmark (Leksand, Sweden) stole the show for the Lady Seahawks scoring 3 unanswered goals by the 37:56 mark. Selma Larsson (Linkoping, Sweden) added the fourth goal before the break.

Renee Brown (Toronto, Canada) and Ebba Blomqvist (Skvode, Sweden) each added a goal in the second half to stretch the Keiser lead to 6-0.

For the Lady Gyrenes, Anne Bateman (Waymart, Pa.) scored the lone goal at the 78:32 mark of the second half to put AMU on the board.

The Lady Seahawks would add one final goal off the boot of Molly Lukk (Arlington, Tx.) to set the score at 7-1, where it would stay for a final.

Up next the Lady Gyrenes will host Trinity Baptist on Tuesday afternoon. This will be the second time the two team have met in 2015. In their first encounter, AMU picked up a 2-0 win.
