BABSON PARK, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's and women's tennis teams each came out of Babson Park with 6-3 wins against Webber International on Saturday. The Lady Gyrenes went 2-1 in doubles play and then won four of the six singles matches to earn the win. On the men's side, AMU won one doubles match and won five of the six singles matches.

For the Lady Gyrenes, the doubles team of Marianna Vargas and Mary Kathryn Lee won 8-1 at one-doubles and the three-doubles team of Alex Lis-Planells and Mary Hardin came out on top of their match 8-1.

In singles play, Vargas and Lee each won at one and two singles while only dropping one game. At five singles, Caitlin Constance won 6-1, 6-0 and at six-singles Katie Trudeau earned the win 6-1, 6-1.

On the men's side, the second doubles team of Brian Schmidt and Zach Sadusky won 8-6 for the Gyrenes lone doubles point.

In singles play, David Zuleta won at one singles 6-4, 6-2 and Elias Zaghra won at two-singles 6-3, 6-1. Schmidt won in three sets at three singles and it took Sadusky just two sets to finish off his match at four singles. TJ Fisher earned the sixth point for AMU at five-singles with a three set win.
