AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's tennis team rolled past Franciscan, 8-1, on Wednesday afternoon at the AMU Tennis Complex. AMU went 2-1 in doubles play before sweeping the six singles matches.
 
In double play, the one-doubles pair of David Zuleta and Brian Schmidt won 8-2 while the three-doubles duo of Zach Sadusky and TJ Fischer won 8-1.
                             
In singles play, Zuleta won in the one spot 6-3, 6-2 and Elias Zaghra won at two-singles 6-0, 6-4. At three singles, Schmidt won 6-3, 7-5 while Fischer defeated his opponent 6-1, 6-3 at four singles. Sadusky and Dan Pardo each won a their matches at five and six singles with scores of 6-1, 5-7, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively.
 
Ave Maria returns to action on Saturday when they welcome St. Thomas for a 1 p.m. match.
