MIAMI SHORES, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's soccer team and the Johnson & Wales Wildcats battled in a scoreless game for nearly 105 minutes until JWU found the back of the net in double-overtime to defeat the Lady Gyrenes 1-0.
 
Francesca Singleton will take the hard-luck loss after keeping the Wildcats scoreless for 104 minutes. She made eight saves on the afternoon.
 
The Lady Gyrenes took three shots in the contest with one going on goal while the Wildcats took 14 shots and managed to get just five on frame.
 
Samantha Klein scored the game-winning goal for Johnson & Wales.
 
Ave Maria returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Keiser for a conference tilt.
