ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Ave Maria men's and women's tennis teams fell to Cornerstone on Thursday in their final match of their spring break trip in Orlando. The Lady Gyrenes narrowly fell to the Golden Eagles 6-3. The men's team dropped an 8-1 decision to Cornerstone.

On the women's side, Marianna Vargas and Camilla Branstner each won their singles matches dropping a combined three games. The duo also won their doubles match 8-4 to earn AMU's third point.

For the men, Sam Perenich won the lone point for the Gyrenes. He took the first set against his singles opponent 6-3 before his opponent retired.

Both team's return to action on Wednesday when they host Franciscan at 1 p.m.
