AVE MARIA, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's golf team is in ninth place after round one of the Thomas University Invitational at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club with a team score of 358. The two-day, 36-hole event will conclude with 18 holes Tuesday morning.
 
Jessica Licari led the Lady Gyrenes with a season best, six-over par 78. She is currently tied for 12th out of 55 golfers.
 
Sarah Notaro carded a 90 in round one followed by Bianca Vicioso with a 93. Kayla Longo finished at 97 and Valerie Bertuccelli came in at 106. As an individual, Taylor Robinson was at 115.
 
Host Thomas is in the lead after round one with a team score of 306 followed by the University of Cambellsville (307) and the University of Cumberlands (308). Thomas' Caroline Parrish was the low individual at 72 (E).
