Round 1 Results

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. --- The Ave Maria women's golf team began their 2016-17 season on Monday at the 2016 Coastal Georgia Fall Invitational. The Lady Gyrenes are in eighth place after 18 holes of the 36-hole tournament at the Pine Lakes course at Jekyll Island Golf Club.
 
The Lady Gyrenes shot a program best 346 on day one. They are five strokes behind Asbury for seventh place.
 
Freshman Bianca Vicioso led AMU with an opening round 84. Claire Hunn finished with an 86 followed by Sarah Notaro at 87. Jessica Licari shot an 89 while Kayla Longo finished with a 92.
 
The Blue and Green return to the course in the morning for a 9 a.m. shot gun start.
 
Faulkner leads the team tournament after an opening round 299. USCB's Franzi Knoetsch is the low individual after 18 holes with a 71.
