ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --- The Ave Maria women's golf team is in sixth place after the first 18 holes of the Georgetown College Invitational hosted at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla.
Ave Maria carded a program best 339 in round one. Top-ranked Keiser shot a 291 followed by Dalton State at 304 and SCAD-Atlanta at 326. AMU is three strokes behind the fifth-place team, St. Andrews College.
Jessica Licari led AMU with a school-record 76 (+4). She is tied for ninth individually out of 58 golfers. Bianca Vicioso finished with an 84 followed by Sarah Notaro at 85. Valerie Bertuccelli shot a 94. Taylor Robinson rounded out the team scoring for AMU with a 97.
The tournament concludes with 18 holes tomorrow morning. Play will begin with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
